Why GAMTA

A proven track record that speaks for itself

Long Established

Our history and proven track record is your success

GAMTA training remains unrivalled and unchallenged in its quality, experience, level of provision and success.  As the oldest and most established musical theatre training in Scotland, and now establishing in other parts of the UK,  it has a solid history and proven track record of graduate success, with an average of 86% of graduates working within the first six months of graduation.   Not just a tick box exercise to a qualification, GAMTA delivers graduates to the industry.

You Are Unique

Celebrate it... stand out from the crowd

GAMTA is boutique, exclusive and specialist.  We recruit small numbers of students in a year,  affording our team the luxury of taking time to get to know and celebrate each student’s uniqueness as a performer.  A GAMTA training means that tutors genuinely take time to know and understand you as individual and performer.  We take great care to fully develop the unique aspects of you.

A GAMTA training makes you stand out from the crowd.

BA Honours IN TWO YEARS

It makes financial sense

GAMTA is one of very few Colleges in Scotland or Wales to offer a BA Degree in musical theatre in two years; if not the only College.  Many institutions offer an HND across three years resulting in your paying more for an HND than you would for a two year degree at GAMTA.

Why pay for an HND when you can be awarded a degree for the same price or less?

You can audition to stay for a third year and complete your Masters degree.  Your third year culminates in your being presented to top agents and casting directors from around the world, through our London showcase which takes place in a theatre in the heart of the west end.

REGULAR FREE MASTERCLASSES

An integral part of your training

We will bring you some of the world’s finest performers, directors, producers and artists to deliver current musical theatre trends, choreography and creative ideas.  This also affords you the opportunity to network at industry level, build relationships and demonstrate your skills to influential people and future employers.

All master classes are free of charge and considered a crucial and integral part of your training.  At GAMTA there are no hidden costs.

Work with Composers, Writers & Directors on New Musical Theatre

GAMTA has a long history of creating new musical theatre works, from initial inception, to fully staged and produced musicals. Such opportunities are often created by our in-house creative team of composers, orchestraters, writers, directors, choreographers and producers, enabling BA students the incredibly exciting challenge of creating a role, and the experience of having input into a creative process. Also, GAMTA encourages and welcomes new work, writers, theatre makers, directors from across the UK to workshop their new pieces, using the student company to develop their ideas.

Industry Showcase

Your ultimate London showcase experience

In your third year , GAMTA will provide you with the opportunity to showcase your skills to the best agents, casting directors, directors, choreographers, and resident directors in the world, in a London, West End theatre. GAMTA showcase is a well-attended, established and much anticipated event in the showcase calendar. Following your performance, you will meet with industry professionals when you will have the opportunity to chat and secure representation.

Once signed with your agent, you are immediately in the ‘professional loop’ and auditioning for roles in the industry.
